? How do I calculate my alcohol needs for a party?
The price on your quote from Aloha On The Rocks includes everything you will need for professional bartending service except the alcohol. Once you make a reservation with us and decide on your drink menu, we will be happy to create a specific shopping list for you of the types and quantities you will need to provide. In the meantime, you can get a rough estimate of your alcohol needs by following our simple formula:
Guest Count X 3 (average drinks per guest) = Total Drinks *
LIQUOR – Total Drinks X .5 (50%) = Amount of Cocktails / 10 (shots per bottle) = Amount of Bottles **
BEER – Total Drinks X .3 (30%) = Amount of Beer / 24 (bottles or cans per case) = Cases of Beer ***
WINE – Total Drinks X .2 (20%) = Amount of Wine / 6 (glasses per bottle) = Number of Bottles ****
CHAMPAGNE – Guest Count / 8 (glasses per bottle) = Number of Bottles *****
* You will know the drinking habits of your guests better than us. You can adjust our numbers and percentages accordingly.
** This formula assumes a standard 750 ml size bottle. If you shop at Costco, their bottles are twice this size. Thus, you can divide the Amount of Bottles in half.
*** We recommend cases of beer for guest counts less than 200. For guest counts over 200, consider kegs. A full keg contains approximately 165 beers.
**** We recommend providing 2/3 red wine and 1/3 white wine. This formula assumes a standard 750 ml size bottle. If you shop at Costco, their bottles are twice this size. Thus, you can divide the Amount of Bottles in half.
***** The estimate for champagne allows for one glass per guest if you plan to do a toast. Also consider a few bottles of sparkling cider for your non-drinking guests.
Your Total Cost will depend largely on the price points of each item. This can vary greatly depending on brand names.
